of humor, poignancy, nimble speech and eloquent gestures dazzles audiences of
every age and description. You've never seen anything like it! Combining the
mythical and the autobiographical, Michael Cooper's one-man extravaganza features
his breathtaking, uniquely handcrafted masks, original stories of courage and
wonder, outlandish stilt-dancing and a physical repertoire that ranges from the
madcap to the sublime.

As
a non-profit organization the Carteret Arts Forum provides
programs for the enjoyment of the community and it works
to enliven our local arts-related community through donations
to museums and our local libraries. CAF also provides funds
for live drama in our schools. Older students are invited
to attend selected scheduled programs. This is now our
eighth season.
The
Mission of the
Carteret Arts Forum
is to invite professionals with high entertainment standards to
speak and perform in such areas as drama, dance, music, history
and literature. The Arts Forum makes a special effort to invite
area students, free of charge, to these enriching cultural experiences.
Organized
in 1999 as a non-profit organization for the benefit of Carteret
County and surrounding areas, the Arts Forum promotes, educates
and exposes those interested in the cultural arts to experiences
unique to the county. Yearly subscriptions are available to the
public.

City. These
presentations have been made possible
through a grant from the North Carolina Humanities Council's Road
Scholars speakers bureau. The North Carolina Humanities Council
is a nonprofit foundation and state affiliate of the National Endowment
for the Humanities. program remains. All

Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at 7 pm at the
History Place, 1008 Arendell Street, Morehead City William
McNeill, MA brings Tango! The Song! The Dance! The Obsession!This
program helps spread the joy of Argentine tango. In addition to demonstrating
the musical elements-pulse, rhythm, and melody-he illustrates a few dance
steps. McNeill aims to intrigue and delight all those who are
fascinated by tango's beauty and mystery.
